There are reports that the ongoing protest by striking lecturers of Nigeria’s polytechnics and colleges of education at the Federal Secretariat, Abuja, has been disrupted by the police.

 

The peaceful protest, which was organized to show displeasure at the Federal Government’s handling of the strike which is about 11 months old now was disrupted on Tuesday morning when police officers fired tear-gas at the protesters, made up of lecturers and students.

Forensic Experts Establish Identities of Nyanya-Abuja Bombers

The identities of some of the terrorists who conducted the Nyanya-Abuja bus garage bombing that claimed over 70 lives, have been established by forensic experts.
Three of the  bombers’ identities have been revealed – two that died during the bombing, and a third one that escaped just prior to the explosion.
“Through the assistance of experts,  we now know those who carried out the attack. Although two of them are dead, we are on the trail of the one who is  alive,” said a security source.
Revelations will be made about the progress of the investigations and the identities of the bombers “at the appropriate time,” Punch reports.

Nollywood Has Lost Another Great Icon, Amaka Igwe

Foremost producer, writer, director and a leading player in the Nigerian motion picture industry, Amaka Igwe has passed on. She died last night April 28th in Enugu after an asthma attack. Mrs Igwe had gone to Enugu in company of her husband for pre-production preparations for a new Igbo soap when the sad incident occurred.

She suffered an asthma attack and was immediately rushed to the hospital but died before getting there.

Mrs Igwe is survived by her husband of 21 years Charles Igwe, three children, an aged mother. So sad!

So Dailypost caught up with Wizkid’s mum at a wedding ceremony  held at Church of The Pentecost Hall, Festac Town, Lagos on Saturday, and she excitedly talked about her superstar son!

 

Mother of sensational artiste, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, aka Wizkid, Mrs Jane Dolapo,  attributed her son’s success to God. The proud mum said she praises God on a daily basis for her son’s remarkable career.

                                            
“I’m so glad that he is my son, and that I’m his mother. I give God all the glory. God has kept him for us and He will continue to.”
Advising aspiring musicians, she urged them to “put God first, work hard and be good to others.”
Asked whether she calls her son Wizkid, the superstar’s funky mother laughed, then responded, “Well, right from when he was small, I call him ‘IB-boy’. You know his real name is Ibrahim, so we formed ‘IB’ from it.” she said

Now, as it's revealed the reality star and her rapper fiance are reportedly planning to have THREE wedding ceremonies, we decided to round-up all the best rumours surrounding the most hyped nuptials of the year.
But first let's talk about the fact the power pair will tie the knot not once, not twice, but three times. Kimye will reportedly first wed in Southern California and then twice in France. The couple's lawyers have advised them to have their civil ceremony in the United States, since they're both American citizens, prior to their French nuptials on May 24 to avoid any unnecessary paperwork problems.
A source told RadarOnline.com: "Typically, the US recognizes citizens getting married in France, but dealing with a foreign government and paperwork could be a nightmare. So just to make sure it's legal, Kim and Kanye will first be having a civil ceremony in Southern California."
But if you think three ceremonies is all very swanky and opulent, wait to you get a load of the rumoured lot below.

Kim's 'on a drastic corset diet in a bid to lose weight before her wedding'   

The reality star is said to have stepped up her pre-wedding dieting and is wearing a corset to bed every night to boost her weight loss.

According to reports, she's copied Jessica Alba and opted for a tight fitting top to try and lose a few extra pounds.
A source told Grazia magazine: "Kim wants her figure to look absolutely perfect on her wedding day. Wearing a corset at night is extremely uncomfortable but has a proven record of results, and with six weeks to go, Kim is up for anything."
