MANY INJURED NYANYA BLAST VICTIMS DISCHARGED AS RCCG GIVES CASH, PROVISIONS TO 52

Indications emerged yesterday that more of the injured victims of the Nyanya bomb blast have been discharged from the hospital, where they have been receiving treatment in the last one week.

Many of the injured have been released from Asokoro and Maitama district hospitals as well as the National Hospital, Abuja, according to senior officials of the medical facilities, who conducted members of the Federal Capital Territory 3 Province of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, round the wards to donate cash and provisions to the victims.

“We cannot give the exact figure of those who have been treated and discharged but the good news is that many of them have been treated and discharged and they are happy with the prompt attention given them by our staff, “a senior nursing officer said.

One of the victims, who was discharged at the Asokoro General Hospital on Monday, said he was grateful to God for sparing his life despite being caught up in the blast.

The victim, who gave his name as Angwa Ashe, said he had forgiven the perpetrators of the evil against him and other Nigerians and prayed God to touch their hearts to repent.

The RCCG team, which was led by the Pastor in Charge of the Province, Pastor Olajide Oluwajobi and his Assistant, Akinremi Bolaji, donated materials and undisclosed amount of cash 52 of the victims in the three hospitals they visited and prayed for their immediate recovery.

Oluwajobi explained that the donation was part of the RCCG’s Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, to extend love and care to the needy in the province and in the spirit of the Easter celebration.

“The concept of RCCG’s CSR is to channel love to the people of the community in which we operate so as to alleviate their sufferings and give hope to the hopeless through special project intervention,” Oluwajobi said.

Speaking to journalists after the presentation, the pastor explained that the church had already undertaken many CSR projects across many rural areas of the FCT, where the church operates and restated its commitment to extend its gesture to more communities.

Pastor Oluwajobi mentioned the projects so far undertaken by the RCCG FCT 3 to include provision of boreholes, ICT, furniture and cooking utensils to some selected secondary schools in Nyanya, Kurudu, Gwadalabe and Jikwoyi communities.

The Assistant Pastor in Charge of Administration in the FCT 3, Bolaji Akinremi, explained that the gesture was principally to extend love and care to the bomb blast victims to cushion their emotional and psychological burden.
